Alex is a warm and empathic Clinical Psychologist with 19 years post qualification experience. She is skilled in helping adults and older adolescents feel at ease, whilst supporting them with achieving their goals. Alex worked in Specialist Inpatient and Outpatient Eating Disorder programs in the United Kingdom before moving to Australia in 2012. She has since worked in Private Practice with clients with a range of difficulties such as managing life stressors, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, complex trauma and relationship difficulties. Alex is trained in using a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Schema Therapy.
Qualifications and memberships
Alex completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Doctor of Psychology at the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom. She is registered to provide Clinical Psychology services with Medicare and has full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PSY0001822549), with endorsement in Clinical Psychology.
She has presented at conferences, published several articles in peer reviewed journals and contributed to The Wiley-Blackwell Handbook of Schema Therapy.
